Liu Zhan,

Liu Zhan, late actor, Hong Quan master. Famous kung fu film director, grand disciple of Wong Fei Hung (taught by Lin Shirong), father of martial arts instructor Liu Jialiang, often plays the role of Lin Shirong in the Wong Fei Hung series of films starring Mr. Kwan Tak Hing. In addition to filming, he also opened a martial arts gym in Hong Kong. Some of his disciples were later brought into the film industry by him, such as Shenxian, Huang Ha, Chen Quan and so on. His sons Liu Jialiang, Liu Jiarong, and adopted son Liu Jiahui's martial arts activities also have a lot to do with him. When Xue Juexian went to Shanghai to learn Waijiang Opera, Liu Zhan was by his side to protect his safety. In 1949, he went to British Hong Kong to open a martial arts gym; he died of illness on November 9, 1963.
