Tong Kim-Ting汤剑廷
Tang Jianting (汤剑廷Tong Kim-Ting) was born in 1898 and died in 1969. Tang Jianting is an actor, editor, photographer, producer and director. In the 1920s, he worked as a photographer and actor in Shanghai Huaju Film Company. He directed the film "Guangzhou War of Resistance" in 1937; as an associate director, "Heroes of the Troubled Times" (1950); in terms of production, he produced the film "Shou De Yun Kai Jian Yue Ming" in 1949. Films photographed include: "Orphans in the Snow" (1929), "Blood Spilling Money" (1936), "Pear Flower Falling" (1936), "West Lake Girl" (1937), "Modern Wu Da Lang" (1937), "working For the Public" (1937), "Money Makes Strange" (1938) and so on. In the late 1930s, he moved to Hong Kong and continued to work as a photographer and editor. During World War II, Tang Jianting was one of the few cinematographers in Hong Kong. Since the 1950s, Tang Jianting has participated in Cantonese feature film performances and has become a green leaf actor, often playing the roles of the elderly, such as father, flower king, servant and so on. Artists who have worked with include: Wu Chufan, Li Qing, Zhang Ying, Xie Xian, Hu Feng, Bai Yan, Li Zhuozhuo, Mei Qi and so on. There are also more than 80 movies in which Tang Jianting has participated. Tang Jianting’s daughter Tang Wan is also an actress. She has filmed movies such as: "Mrs. Yuan Pei" (1956), "True and False Daughter" (1955), "Renewing the Fate of Life" (1954) , "As You Like It" (1951), "Xiao Luxiang" (1950), "Lining Career" (1950) and other films.
