Wu Yaohan(Richard Ng )

Wu Yaohan(Richard Ng )was born on December 17, 1939. He is an actor in Hong Kong. He studied in the UK at the age of 15. During that time, he was keen on drama activities. He entering the British Hamster School of Drama, after graduation, he joined the BBC and starred in 4 TV comedies. In the 1970s, Wu Yaohan returned to Hong Kong and ran a hair salon with his wife on Prince Edward Road - "Susan Hair Salon" (his wife is the first generation disciple of Vidal Sassoon, and is also Bruce Lee's queen hair stylist), so he met Zhou Liang Shuyi, joined TVB did creative works for the Double Star Annunciation, and then started to work in front of the scene. Appreciated by Xu Guanwen, he participated in "Half Weight" to play the role of a policeman in uniform. After formally joining the film industry, he founded Pioneer Pictures in 1975 as an actor and producer. His main works include "Fat Qian Han" produced in 1977, "Panic Lost" produced in 1980, and "Fat Lost" produced in 1982. "Beware of Small Hands" etc. Wu Yaohan's performances are mainly comedies. Due to his outstanding image and deep comedy talent, he has created many classic images that fans will never forget. For example, in the 1980s, the Lucky Star movie series became popular. He, Sammo Hung, Feng Suifan, Qin Xianglin, Miu Qiaowei, Zeng Zhiwei and Shun Jianxun were called the Five Lucky Stars because of the Lucky Star series. In the 1990s, Wu Yaohan began to fade out of the film industry and moved to the UK; but he occasionally made guest appearances. For example, in recent years he has appeared in the British TV series "The Bill" plays a convenience store owner. In 2009, TV Broadcasting Co., Ltd. specially invited him to return to Hong Kong from the UK to serve as the award presenter for the best program host of the 2009 Thousand Stars Awards Ceremony. Wu Yaohan returned to Hong Kong in 2010. In 2013, he came back to take the movie "Zombie" and played the role of zombie. In 2018, Wu Yaohan revealed that he was suffering from kidney failure when he attended the premiere of the movie "Pearls Like Treasures" in an interview. His son Ng Ka Lung is also an artist. Ng Ka Lung transformed from a magazine model into a movie actor. In "Happy Birthday", the two father and son played opposite each other, playing the role of the heroine Liu Ruoying's father and suitor respectively. In 2015, the Wu family participated in the cable TV program "Take Grandma to Travel". Wu Yaohan died in 10th April 2023, at the age of 83.
