Yan Jun严俊
Yan Jun严俊 was born in Beijing on December 17, 1917. He studied at Fu Jen Catholic University in Beijing and Shanghai Daxia University. He was a drama actor in his early years. In 1938, he joined Shanghai Guohua Film Company as an actor and played roles in films such as "New Hell". In the following year, he joined the Shanghai Theater Arts Club to perform dramas. After 1942, he starred in many films in China United Film Co., Ltd. and China Film United Co., Ltd. After 1947, he starred in films such as "Mother and Son" and "The Man Who Sold the Shadow" in film companies such as China Power Second Factory, Wenhua, and Cathay Pacific. Came to Hong Kong in 1949, and successively starred in "Slut Heart", "A Generation of Enchantress", "The World of Lies", "A Moment of Spring Night" and so on. In 1953, in Shaw Brothers, Yan Jun, who acted and directed, directed "Wushan League" for the first time. "Cui Cui" and "Chrysanthemum Girl" directed and acted by himself were relatively excellent films at that time. As a director, Yan Jun is good at making literary and artistic films, which draws a wide range of materials and is full of drama. The suspense film "The Pink Killer" directed by him once set the highest box office record in Taiwan, Hong Kong and Southeast Asia. He has directed nearly 50 films, among which "Eternal Beauty" won the "Best Film" award at the 12th Asian Film Festival.
