Chow Siu Ying周少英

Chow Siu Ying周少英 (1895-?), was born in Singapore Cantonese opera troupe "Eight-tone Girl". A Hong Kong film actress and Cantonese opera actress who was active from 1936 to 1961 (reversed Wen Wusheng and Zheng Yindan). Her husband is Zhai Shancong; her son is Yu Jia (Zhai Yujia), and the whole family are Cantonese opera actors. On December 1, 1927 (Thursday) at 7:00 pm, Chow Siu Ying performed the Cantonese opera "Blind Girl Xuehen" for the American "Ying Nishang Men and Women Class" at the "Worth Theater" (Worth Theater) in San Francisco, USA. Other actors included Zheng Yindan Tan Lanqing . Chow Siu Ying earned US dollars in the United States. After returning to Hong Kong, she bought No. 5, Kangle Street, Mongkok, Kowloon as a rent collection. After deducting rates and utility bills, she earned HK$55. In November 1990, Zhou Shaoying, who was 95 years old, donated HK$200,000 to sponsor her son Yu Jia and Cantonese opera actress Nanhong to purchase the meeting place for the "Cantonese Opera Actors Association".
