Wei Xiuxian
Wei Xiuxian, originally from Guangdong, was born in Shanghai in 1932 and came to Hong Kong in 1949. Her mother is Li Xuefang, a famous Cantonese opera singer. Therefore, Wei Xiuxian grew up under the influence of Cantonese opera and Cantonese opera. When she was young, she won a championship in a vocal competition and was able to become a master of the musician Zhao Meibo student . She also became a student of vocalist Li Bing and sang a floral soprano. However, her singing field is not limited to the field of orthodox art songs. From time to time, she sings Chinese epoch songs and participates in the singing behind the scenes of Cantonese films. Wei Xiuxian has performed countless classic golden tunes with her delicate voice and singing skills, which has fascinated generations of people. The song "One Water Across the World"一水隔天涯 was selected by Radio Hong Kong's "One Hundred Years of Classic Golden Melody", ranking top Top of the list. In the 1960s, many Cantonese film episodes/theme songs were sung. Later he taught at the Hong Kong Conservatory of Music, ATV Art Training Class and Haiyan Art Academy. She moved to Toronto in 1989.
