Lee Sau Kei 李壽祺

Lee Sau Kei 李壽祺 was born in Singapore on August 14, 1920, from Heshan, Guangdong. Originally named Li Haiming, scientific name Li Zecai. His father is Liang Yuanheng, a famous Cantonese opera actress nicknamed "Cunduheng". Lee Sau Kei lived back and forth between the province and Hong Kong with his father in acting in his early years; he once studied in the art drawing department of Guangzhou Municipal Third Vocational School. In 1936, in order to join the Guangzhou Branch of the Central Military Academy, he impersonated a man named Lee Sau Kei, and he was named Lee Sau Kei from then on. Served as an officer after graduating from military academy. During the Anti-Japanese War, he served as a platoon leader and worked in the tax bureau. After being demobilized, he continued to serve as a soldier. Lee Shou-kei came to Hong Kong in 1949 and was introduced to the film industry by his old friend Zhu Ji. In 1950, he participated in the film production for the first time as the book cover of the Cantonese film "The Kao's Daughter". In the same year, he also acted as a scene diary and actor in "The End of My Life" (1950). From then on, he mainly followed Zhuji and Chen Pi, and his previous jobs included behind-the-scenes scene recorder, assistant director, screenwriter, and special actor in front of the scene. The first film he directed was "Zixia Cup" (1955) produced by Liang Xingbo's own company. Lee Sau Kei often co-directs with other well-known directors. Apart from "Zixia Cup", the only films he directed independently are "Kunlun Slave Stealing Red Silk" (1956), "Who Does the Emperor Marry" (1956) and "Wu Pan'an" (1963) and so on. Later, due to the excessive pressure from the director, he concentrated on being a special actor and acted in a large number of films. The famous one is the third and fourth episodes of "The Palm of the Tathagata" (1964) playing the red-smelting man Ran Jiuzhou in the palm of the hand. In 1968, Lee Sau Kei signed a contract with Shaw Brothers and left in 1977. Signed a contract with Li TV for two years, and two years later became a freelance actor, performing in movies and TV. He also served as the manager of artists such as Deng Biyun, Zheng Biying and Mak Bingrong. He is also an active member of the Hong Kong Film Actors Film Company, which was established in the 1960s to fight for the reasonable rights and interests of special actors. Lee Sau Kei's second son, Li Guoqiang, was the assistant director of Zhang Cheh, and the youngest son, Li Guowei, was also a child actor. Works include "Long Live My Wife", "Miss Transformation", "Under the Roof of Hong Kong" and so on. Lee Sau Kei's roles are usually very few, but everyone must be familiar with him. He has participated in countless films, at least 300, and he still performed in the late 1990s. Lee Sau Kei passed away on December 31, 2004 at the age of 84.
