Tang Baoyun唐宝云

Tang Baoyun唐宝云 a Taiwanese actress. Born in Shouan, Hunan in 1944. In 1948, she moved from Guangzhou to Taiwan with her father's army and settled in Zhuolan Town, Miaoli County. Her debut film "Typhoon" won the attention of the public for her role as a lively mountain girl with her natural and straightforward personality, and won the Best Supporting Actress award at the 9th Asian Film Festival for this film. In 1961, she became a student of the preparatory class for actors in China Film , and signed a contract to become a basic actress of China Film after the training. In 1964, she became popular for her performance of "The Duck Raiser" and became the most popular female star of the year. Tang Baoyun's "Duck Raising Family" is a masterpiece of healthy and realistic films in the 1960s. In the film, Tang Baoyun unpretentiously interprets a filial little girl who raises ducks in the countryside, and later has the title of "Duck Raising Princess". This work has made Tang Baoyun the signature star of China Film Corporation since then. In 1967, she married the painter Qi Weiyi, quit the film industry and went to settle in the United States, saying goodbye to her thriving acting career. In 1971, she returned back to participate in "Autumn Judgment" directed by Li Xing and returned to the film industry. From 1972 to 1979, she took on many different types of films. Literary films such as "Little Rain" and "Late Autumn", comedy films such as "Who's Hen Doesn't Lay Eggs" and "When the East is Sunny and the West is Raining", martial arts films such as "Nan Xia Zhan Zhao" and "The Legs of Esoteric Buddhism", and monster films such as "Zhang Tianshi Takes the Demon" and "Snake Man". At the same time, she expanded the field of performing arts, participated in the performance of TV programs, and served as the host of "One Two Three Everyone Watch" in Hau Television. In 1983, she performed "No. 1 in the World" directed by Hu Jinquan, and has since ceased filming.Tang Baoyun died on May 14, 1999 at Taipei Gengsin Hospital at the age of fifty-five.
