Wan Tin-Chiu (尹天照)

Wan Tin-Chiu (尹天照, October 28, 1964 -), nicknamed Ah Zhao, is a Hong Kong actor. In 1983, he graduated from the second artist training class of ATV. His first job in the TV station was to host the children's program "500 Flying Tigers" for more than two years (1983-1985). In the mid-1980s, he was named and promoted several times by the top executives of the drama group, but he failed to become popular; it was not until 1986 that the late actor Wang Wei suggested that Wan Tin-Chiu take over the drama "Jigong Living Buddha", and he was transferred from hosting children's programs to focus on filming TV dramas. He began to play the main role when he participated in the filming of "The Change of Heavenly Silkworms". In the 1990s, he finally moved towards the leading role step by step with years of acting experience. And the first work he filmed on ATV was "Qin and Sword Enmity". Since then, Wan Tin-Chiu has filmed many TV series one after another. From 1997 to 1999, Wan Tin-Chiu's acting career reached a higher level. He was nominated for Best Supporting Actor in ATV Channel 97 Qing Ye for his drama "Sword Roaring Rivers and Lakes", and competed for Best Actor in TV 98 Qing Ye for "97 Chameleon". Soon in 1999, he won the "Best Actor" award at the 42nd ATV Awards Ceremony of ATV for the drama "I Have a Date with a Zombie". Wan Tin-Chiu became famous for "I Have a Date with a Zombie". In the past ten years, he has been invited by mainland Chinese producers to shoot at least 20 sets of zombie films. But he rejected them all. According to his interview with RTHK Radio 2's "Hold Your Heart" on February 7, 2017, "I Have a Date with a Zombie II" was originally a Cangdi drama. The drama was delayed due to the time when the shares in Asia Television changed hands. And Xu Xiaoming just returned to ATV and decided to broadcast this drama to allow the film crew to have time to produce new episodes. At the same time, Wan Tin-Chiu had already left the TV station due to salary issues. But then Lin Baixin was willing to add Wan Tin-Chiu's salary of 50,000 yuan to film each episode of "My Date with a Zombie II", and he returned to ATV. A year later, he left again. In 2002, he returned to the TV station in the form of a book contract and officially left in 2011. In addition, the reason why Yam Tat Wah was cast in "I Have a Date with a Zombie II" is that Wan Tin-Chiu was willing to take part of the salary for producer Sin Chi Wai to invite Yam Tat Wah to join. Wan Tin-Chiu is currently performing on stage in Mainland China, and will also be shooting commercials, TV dramas and movies. In recent years, he has started to set foot in the film industry. Apart from participating in performances, he also tried to work as a film producer. Its fan club is "Eric Meng Friends Club".
