Leong Wai-yuk梁怀玉
Liang Huaiyu(梁怀玉 Leong Wai-yuk) was born in 1910. His original name was Liang Shijue. He was originally from Kaiping County, Guangdong Province. He was best at imitating Xue Juexian. It is known as "Four Brothers and a Half", which means that its performance is similar to that of "Five Brothers" (Xue Juexian). During the Japanese invasion of China, Liang Huaiyu fled to Jinshan in the United States, where he and Lu Xiaoxian made a color Cantonese film "The Light of Overseas Chinese". Liang Huaiyu later joined the National Army and retreated to Taiwan Province with the army.He gather Cantonese opera talents from the national army, the first Cantonese opera troupe in Taiwan was established in 1951: Jingzhong Cantonese Opera Troupe. Liang Huaiyu came to Hong Kong in 1953 and joined Wei Shaofang's Taishang Troupe. Later, after hard work, he was appreciated by Wei Shaofang, and he was allowed to form a medium-sized theater troupe with Guan Nanhua and his niece Wei Mingzhu. He once played the role of Guan Gong with a Beijing accent; in "Yang Bamei Takes the Golden Sword", he even played the role of Yang Bamei in reverse, and drawing a huge plum blossom freehand on the stage, which amazed the audience. In 1946, he was a civil and military student in the Fushou Junior Class at that time, and he had an affair with Zhengyin Baotou White Rose (Luo Chujian). Later, Bai Meigui lived together with Su Yanyi, the owner of the shipping company, at the East Asia Hotel. Unconvinced, Liang Huaiyu had the guts to write a letter to blackmail "Dakousu" Su Yanyi, and was arrested by the police and sent back to jail. Films that Liang Huaiyu has filmed include: "The Light of Overseas Chinese" (1940), "Family of the World" (1963). In 1963, Liang Huaiyu was hospitalized due to liver disease; on August 11, 1964 (Tuesday), he died of liver disease at the Taipei Veterans General Hospital in Taiwan Province at the age of 54.
