Polly Kuan上官靈鳳

Shangguan Lingfeng (上官靈鳳Polly Kuan) was born on October 10, 1946 in Pingtung County, Taiwan Province. Her original name was Xu Zhimei. She was known as the "Martial Arts Queen" in the Hong Kong and Taiwan film industry in the 1960s and 1970s. Polly Kuan born in Taiwan, her mother is singer Ouyang Ru. Polly Kuan's first film was the martial arts film "Dragon Gate Inn" directed by Hu Jinquan in 1966. She rose to prominence and became a sensation in the film industry after its release. In 1973, she won the Best Actress Award at the 11th Taiwan Film Golden Horse Awards for her performance in "Heroes". Shangguan Lingfeng has developed a tomboy character since she was a child, and she often plays women disguised as men in movies. She has created many images of chivalrous women who are tender on the one hand, and superb in martial arts on the other. In 1978, she studied in the United States and majored in mass communication. In 1980, she returned to Taiwan and became a star in film, television, singing. She got married in 1982 and completely quit the film industry. She has made more than 70 movies in total. After her break from acting in 1981, she went to the United States to teach taekwondo at a kung fu gym.
