Singing artist Bao Perry

Bao Peili (1943-2020) was originally from Shanghai and studied orthodox vocal training at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music. She and Mai Qing are both senior students. From May 5 to 20, 1962, the "Shanghai Concert Hall" held the third "Shanghai Spring" concert. She sang two folk songs solo, "The Little Song Is So Easy to Sing" and "The Waves of the Honghu Lake". Orchestra accompaniment. Moved to Hong Kong in 1963. In 1964, Huangmei tune and folk song movies were popular in Hong Kong. "Shaw Brothers Film Company" once held the "Folk Song Love" movie singing competition. She participated in the competition and won the championship, thus entering the music industry. Later, she served as a behind-the-scenes vocalist in many movies, such as "The Green Day", "The Furious Sea", "Longhugou", "Wild Girl", etc. She joined EMI Records in 1966 and recorded her first album "Send Me a Rose", which was adapted from Xinjiang folk songs. She also arranged to sing two famous songs by Li Xianglan, among which "Tuberose" was composed of two songs of the same name. "Tuberose" is composed of versions by Hu Die and Li Xianglan respectively. Mr. Bao released three solo albums on the record company, namely "Beautiful Girl" in 1969, "Rose of Dreams" in 1971 and "Selected Chinese Folk Songs" in 1972. Since the late 1960s, she began to teach singing skills to her apprentices. She also often serves as a judge for TV singing competitions. Bao Peili died of cancer in Hong Kong on February 17, 2020, at the age of 77.
