Yi Qiushui

Yi Qiushui伊秋水, formerly known as Yi Jingrong, was born in Panyu, Guangdong. Yi Qiushui graduated from Hong Kong Queen's College and worked as an English secretary in a law firm. In the 1930s, he joined the "Linlang Phantom Troupe" to perform "civilized drama" ; later, he used "Yi Xiaonong" as his stage name, and formed the "Da Luo Tian" was an ugly student of Cantonese opera, and was good at singing "Dragon Boat"; he began to work in film in 1936, and his debut work was "New Youth". ", "Laughter Falls to the Earth" and so on. In October 1940, Yi Qiushui went to Singapore to perform the patriotic drama "Friends of the Wounded Soldier". Because he played the screen image of Chaplin many times in the film, he is very similar, so it is called "Oriental Chaplin". He once married Ma Xiaoying, a famous Cantonese opera actress, and reunited with Li Huifang after divorce. In 1953, Yi Qiushui was diagnosed with laryngeal cancer on the left throat. In 1955, he starred in the last film "Looking at the Husband Returning from Wangfu Mountain" and died of illness at the age of 51.
