Zheng Jiasheng

Zheng Jiasheng (郑家生Cheng Ka Sang) was born on May 4, 1956. His original name was Cheng Fan Sang. He grew up in Lei Cheng Uk Estate, Sham Shui Po, Kowloon. His uncle was the foreman of a Teochew opera troupe. Cheng Ka Sang performed in Shen Kung Opera at a grand event in primary school, playing the role of a flag-carrying soldier. He once followed Yuan Xiaotian in somersaults. On the other hand, he picked up strawberries in the market and used them as "Spanish horseshoes" and hawked them outside the swimming pool to earn living expenses. In the 1970s, he was introduced by his theater friends to join Shaw Brothers Film Company as a martial arts instructor and studied under Tang Jia. In 1979, he signed a contract with TVB and continued to work in relevant positions. He was Xie Xian's stand-in in dramas such as "The Farewell Hook" and "A Thousand Years of Kings". In 1983, he signed a TV artist contract and played supporting roles in TVB dramas for a long time. He then proposed to the film director that he should start acting as an actor in 1982. Because of his strong physique, he is often called the "TVB Queen's Villain" as he appears in many evil-looking roles. In the early days of his debut, he originally used his real name, but changed his stage name to "Zheng Jiasheng" in the 1990s. In 2012, he left TVB and switched to the Hong Kong Television Network. The first film was "Police Line" which started shooting in July 2012. In 2016, he returned to TVB as a special artist and played the role of the leader of the Shantou Gang in "Heroes of the Walled City". Cheng Ka-sang has a background in troupe kung fu, so he often serves as a martial arts instructor in the film industry. The most prominent one was "Gunfire" in 1999. He was nominated for "Best Action Choreography" at the 19th Hong Kong Film Awards for this film. He had acting experience as early as the new wave of Hong Kong films.
