Guo Chang (Kok Cong)
Guo Chang (Kok Cong) was born on October 31, 1956 in Shenyang City, Liaoning Province. He is a TV and movie actor in Mainland China. He is married and left-handed. Guo Chang later moved to Guangzhou with his mother and began to join Guangdong Television Station in 1984 to develop in the television industry. He has appeared in many TV series on Guangdong TV Station and is famous for his role as the second brother Kang Qizong in "The Foreign Wife, the Local Man". He also has behind-the-scenes work experience. Guo Chang often mocks his personal shape, appearance and body shape by saying that he is "tall, old, dark, thin, and has a tight shoe". Due to his humorous performance in the role, he was dubbed "Guangdong Stephen Chow" by mainland audiences. In 2003, Guo Chang was diagnosed with stage III gastric cancer, and immediately underwent surgery to remove three-quarters of his stomach and a kidney. Guo Chang was hospitalized for half a year. After being discharged from the hospital, Guo Chang continued to participate in the filming of "Foreign Wife, Local Man". The doctor had recommended that Guo Chang undergo six rounds of chemotherapy, but Guo Chang only had five rounds of chemotherapy. Guo Chang's gastric cancer recurred in 2006 and had metastasized to organs when it was discovered. On February 28, Guo Chang made his last public appearance at the celebration party for the 1,000th episode of "Outside" and was subsequently admitted to the Ersha Island Branch of the Guangdong Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine for treatment. At noon on June 13, Guo Chang fell into a coma and woke up in the early morning of the next day. Near noon on June 14, Guo Chang developed breathing difficulties. After resuscitation failed, he died at 1:10 p.m. He was 50 years old.
