Luo Jiabao罗家宝

Luo Jiabao罗家宝(born in June 1930), a Cantonese opera actor, the founder of the Cantonese opera "Xiaqiang", and the fourth batch of representative inheritors of Cantonese opera, a national intangible cultural heritage project. Luo Jiabao's father Luo Jiashu is the master chef of the Cantonese opera troupe, his uncle Luo Jiaquan is a Cantonese opera actor, and Hong Kong Cantonese opera actor Luo Jiaying is his cousin. In June 1930, Luo Jiabao was born. Since childhood, he has learned art from his father Luo Jiashu (the master in charge) and his uncle Luo Jiaquan (the veteran Cantonese opera actor). When he was only a few years old, during a performance in Shanghai, everyone found that a walk-on was missing, so they temporarily painted Luo Jiabao's face with oil paint, put on a costume, and told him that he would play a kid later. Just walk a few steps and dance with a few actors dressed the same way. Luo Jiabao had no idea what he was playing, so he completed his first performance on stage. In 1942, Luo Jiabao joined the Kam Tim Hua Theater Company, starring Chen Kamtang, and began his Cantonese opera performance career. In 1945, Luo Jiabao performed in the Dragon Phoenix Theater Company, starring Bai Yutang, and the Victory Theater Company, starring Ma Shitsang. After that, he cooperated with Gui Mingyang and received Gui Mingyang's guidance. In 1958, Luo Jiabao entered the Guangdong Cantonese Theater Company. In 1966, during the "Cultural Revolution", he was sent to a forest farm in Meixian County for labor reform. In 1978, Luo Jiabao was rehabilitated and returned to the Cantonese opera stage with the encouragement of the audience. In 1988, Luo Jiabao retired. In 2002, he was awarded the Cantonese Opera "Outstanding Achievement Award" by Guangdong Province. On December 20, 2012, Luo Jiabao was announced as the fourth batch of representative inheritors of national intangible cultural heritage projects. At 21:18 on the evening of April 21, 2016, Luo Jiabao passed away at the First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University in Guangzhou at the age of 86 due to multifunctional failure caused by chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Luo Jiabao is known as the "King of Niu Sheng". He combined the strengths of various families and combined with his personal voice conditions to create a unique artistic singing style "Xiaqiu". Luo Jiabao likes to collect famous paintings. There are more than 400 famous paintings in his home. Besides collecting paintings, he also studied painting. He often practiced calligraphy at home by sharpening ink and brush, and once served as the vice president of the Red Boat Jinlu Poetry, Calligraphy and Painting Society. Luo Jiabao once participated in the TV series "97 Chameleon" (1997), playing Feng Dechang; Luo Jiabao's wife is Bai Yanzhen, an overseas Chinese in Singapore. In 1966, during the "Cultural Revolution", the organization asked Luo Jiabao to draw a clear line with Bai Yanzhen. Luo Jiabao submitted a divorce application to deal with the leadership. The court approved his divorce request and sent the divorce notice to Singapore. Bai Yanzhen was so heartbroken after receiving it that she passed away in depression the next year.
