Liang Shaoxin梁少芯
Liang Shaoxin梁少芯 (year of birth unknown), a Hong Kong Cantonese opera actress (Zhengyindan), whose ancestral home is Hepu, Guangxi, is known as "Sister Xin". Her elder brother Liang Hanwei and her husband Wen Qiansui are both famous Cantonese opera actors. Leung Shao-xin's father, Leung Kwan-hsien, was a stage set designer for Cantonese opera. When she was young, Liang Shaoxin formed a small theater troupe called "The Beginning People" with her brother Leung Han-wai, sisters Leung Siu-ying and Leung Shaotong. Later, everyone left the troupe. Among them, Leung Han-wai played a leading role in Cantonese opera. He has the highest achievement in the world, followed by Liang Shaoxin. Liang Shaoxin's first Cantonese opera teachers were Yam Daxun, Xu Junhan and Qi Caifen. She also studied with Tang Xiaolanfang, Yan Junxiong and Tan Shanshan. She also studied Peking Opera posture with Chen Yongling, one of the "New Four Little Famous Dancing Dances" in Peking Opera. The first time she participated in a large-scale theater performance was in the play "Thunder of the Golden Drum and the Sound of the Jade" starring Lam Ka-sing and Chen Haoqi at the Tung Lok Theatre. At the age of 19 (in the late 1960s), she was invited to perform in the United States as a second troupe of actresses. At that time, many theater troupes toured the United States, and Liang Shaoxin stayed in the United States for many years. After returning to Hong Kong, in 1976, she formed a group with Leung Han-wai, Yuen Siu-fai and Gao Li to perform in Vietnam. In the 1980s, while running a fashion business, she participated in Cantonese opera performances. Liang Shaoxin married Wen Qiansui, also a Cantonese opera actor, and they once formed the "Chitose Cantonese Opera Troupe". In 2001, the two founded the "Chitose Cantonese Opera Research Institute" and devoted themselves to training younger generations. In the mid-2000s, the two believed in Christianity. In 2008, Wen Qiansui composed the gospel Cantonese song "Jesus the Savior", which was sung by the couple. In 2010, the two created and performed the play "Noah's Ark", which was the first of its kind in gospel Cantonese opera. In 2011, she moved to Los Angeles, USA, and preached around the world. Liang Shaoxin got married in 1969. She gave birth to a son shortly after the marriage, but he died six days later. Since then, she has been troubled by insomnia. She solved the insomnia problem after contacting Christianity in 2006. In the same year, she and Wen Qiansui were baptized together. Before getting married, Wen Qiansui had another marriage, and there were rumors that Liang Shaoxin was the third party. They suffered criticism for many years after their marriage.
