新马师曾Sun Ma Sze Tsang1916年6月20日出生，原名邓永祥，广东顺德人，又名新马仔，后辈多尊称他为祥哥。邓永祥8岁时父母离异，其父邓祺以赌为生，而且是粤剧迷，母亲罗莲。父母离异后，新马仔与母亲来港生活，母亲当佣工期间，邓常被庶母刻薄挨骂，终离家出走流浪街头，后遇上江湖艺人收留并学艺，茶座表演期间得到老行尊何细纪赏识，经转介到何寿年学艺，经传统功架训练成绩突进。 邓永祥曾因演戏时模仿名伶马师曾，于是他师傅给他改了“新马师曾”这个艺名。自二十世纪三十年代至他逝世，新马仔先后参加过多个剧团及多次自组剧团演出；早期有“觉先声”及“定乾坤”等著名剧团，亦曾自组“玉马男女剧团”。新马仔虽然身材瘦小，但擅演"关戏"，且对京剧颇有研究，并曾赴上海学艺，有很好的底子。 1950年代，新马师曾与当时其它红伶一样，接拍电影；除粤剧戏曲片外，他亦以喜剧演员身分，与邓寄尘合作，演出阿福及两傻系列电影。 1960年，新马师曾创办了永祥唱片公司，除了灌录了他多首本名曲外，也曾灌录京剧唱片，其中万恶淫为首是他的代表作。 据他透露1960年代之前曾输掉数以千万计的钱，后来选择入股澳门娱乐有限公司1%股权。往后并投资购买西贡一块4万尺土地，筲箕湾开设楚留香酒楼，及拥有永祥唱片公司。 新马师曾先后娶过四位妻子，首任妻子梅丽芳，因性格不合离异；第二任妻子梁添添，因肺病于29岁早逝；第三任妻子赛珍珠，生有三子，因性格不合离异；第四任妻子洪金梅1965年开始同居，诞下四子女（邓兆尊、邓兆荣、原名邓翠玉的邓小艾和邓碧玉），并在1992年正式结婚，“金马红梅庆同心”婚礼并在无线电视翡翠台播出。 新马师于1997年1月3日因为支气管炎、肺积痰及心脏病入住嘉诺撒医院，留院109天至1997年4月21日晚上8时30分病新马师曾病逝于香港，终年80岁。Sun Ma Sze Tsang新马师曾 was born on June 20, 1916. His original name was Deng Yongxiang. He was born in Shunde, Guangdong. Deng Yongxiang's parents divorced when he was 8 years old.
