He has performed many famous dramas, including "Three Thieves Nine Dragons Cup" and so on. Chen Jintong joined the Cantonese opera circle in the 1930s and is a well-known literary and military student. Chen Jintang once worshiped two famous teachers. At first, he worshiped under Xiaosheng Xinbei, and he was a brother of the famous Cantonese opera actor Guan Dexing. Chen Jintang learned from Xinbei and practiced martial arts. After leaving work with the teacher, he started as a subordinate, and served as the sixth Xiaowu in Da Luotian. His initial stage name was Liangyu. Chen Jintang has always admired the Northern School of Peking Opera, so he got acquainted with Peking Opera Wudan and learned from the Northern School. The late Jue Xiansheng became the third Xiao Wu, and changed his stage name to Chen Jintang, and got Xue Jue Xian to teach him about makeup and acting. Chen Jintang and Xue Juexian became sworn father and son. He is good at acting in martial arts dramas and has the title of "Wu Zhuangyuan". He has performed many famous dramas, both civil and military. Good at playing young heroes, Yang Zongbao, Xue Dingshan, Gao Junbao and other roles are well-known; playing villains such as Ximen Qing, Ling Guixing, Sha Sanshao and other roles are also praised by the audience. Chen Jintang became famous for the play "Scent of a Daughter" by the well-known playwright Nanhai Shisanlang. He played the male lead Wei Zhaoren in the play, while his master Xue Juexian played the female lead Mei Anxiang in reverse. Later, in the 1940s, he formed Jin Tim Hua Theater Company. Chen Jintang sometimes plays the role of villain, the appearance of that hypocrite is really not flattering. Under his guidance, Liang made great progress in his skills and was later known as "Wu Tanhua". Chen Jintang has many disciples, such as Su Shaotang, Xiao Zhongkun, Zhou Shaoping, Yu Huchen and so on. Chen Jintang withdrew from the stage in 1967. Died of illness in Hong Kong on February 30, 1981.
