容锦昌(Peter Yung Kam-Cheong)
容锦昌(Peter Yung Kam-Cheong,1967年1月—),香港前亚洲电视及无线电视艺人。容锦昌曾就读昔日位于西营盘第三街的香港利玛窦书院。其父容灿坤在香港岛西环以经营麻油厂“顺昌隆”生意,身家过亿;容锦昌曾在圈中被称为“麻油王子”。容锦昌于1988年参加亚洲太平洋歌唱比赛。后于1990年通过亚洲电视举办的歌唱大赛进入演艺圈。1994年凭借在香港电影《飞虎雄心》中的出色表现荣获1995年第14届香港电影金像奖“最佳新演员”的提名。因其形象健康及身材健美,曾是1990年代亚洲电视的希望之星,在剧集中大多饰演正直、老实角色。亦曾主持《今日睇真D》、儿童节目《飞虎队》等节目。直至1996年,他转投无线电视。但于1990年代末前后,他逐渐沦为配角。
在2000年,香港娱乐圈流传无线艺人“Y君”(化名)患有艾滋病的消息。容锦昌成了点嫌疑人。自此,他被负面新闻缠身,出现精神崩溃症状。2000年8月,容锦昌于其父经营的麻油厂中,与胞兄容锦龙发生冲突后,用伞将胞兄劫持。随后警方用胡椒喷雾将其制服。他因打伤两名警察被警方拘捕。结果法庭裁定他拒捕及袭警罪名成立,被判守行为两年。此外,媒体亦曾报道容锦昌因服用药物过量,在家中突然晕倒,被送入医院接受治疗。
2000年末,容锦昌不堪丑闻困扰,主动向无线提出解约要求,退出娱乐圈;退出娱乐圈后,容锦昌一直处于无业状态,个人生活倍受丑闻困扰。2002年,容锦昌涉嫌在公厕内偷窥一男记者被捕,但因证据不足而无罪释放。其后,容锦昌多次被媒体披露,其经常流连于公厕、健身室等公共场所,疑似寻觅同性恋伙伴。容锦昌于2004年在长洲一家酒店意图烧炭自杀,幸被及时发现。
Yung Kam-Cheong容锦昌 (January 1967-) is a former Asia Television and TVB artist in Hong Kong. Yung Kam-Cheong studied at the former Hong Kong Matteo Ricci College on Third Street in Sai Ying Pun. His father, Yong Cankun, runs a sesame oil factory called "Shun Cheong Long" in Sai Wan, Hong Kong Island, with a net worth of over 100 million; Yong Jinchang was once known as the "Sesame Oil Prince" in the circle. Yung Kam-Cheong participated in the Asia Pacific Singing Competition in 1988. Later, he entered the entertainment industry through the singing competition held by Asia Television in 1990. In 1994, he was nominated for the "Best New Actor" at the 14th Hong Kong Film Awards in 1995 for his outstanding performance in the Hong Kong movie "Flying Tiger". Because of his healthy image and fit body, he was once a promising star of Asian TV in the 1990s. He played upright and honest characters in most dramas. He has also hosted programs such as "Today's D" and the children's program "Flying Tigers". Until 1996, he switched to wireless television. But around the late 1990s, he gradually became a supporting actor.
In 2000, news spread in the Hong Kong entertainment circle that wireless artist "Y Jun" (pseudonym) had AIDS. Yung Kam-Cheong became a suspect. Since then, he has been plagued by negative news and suffered from mental breakdown. In August 2000, Yung Kam-Cheong had a conflict with his brother Yung Kam-Cheong at the sesame oil factory run by his father and kidnapped his brother with an umbrella. The police then used pepper spray to subdue him. He was arrested by the police for injuring two police officers. As a result, the court found him guilty of resisting arrest and assaulting a police officer, and he was sentenced to two years of good behavior. In addition, the media also reported that Yung Kam-Cheong suddenly fainted at home due to a drug overdose and was sent to the hospital for treatment.
By the end of 2000, Yung Kam-Cheong could no longer bear the scandal and took the initiative to request TVB to terminate his contract and withdraw from the entertainment industry. After quitting the entertainment industry, Yung Kam-Cheong has been unemployed and his personal life has been plagued by scandals. In 2002, Yung Kam-Cheong was arrested on suspicion of peeping at a male reporter in a public toilet, but was acquitted due to insufficient evidence. Later, Yung Kam-Cheong was repeatedly exposed by the media that he often hung out in public places such as public toilets and fitness rooms, suspected of looking for gay partners. In 2004, Yung Kam-Cheong attempted to commit suicide by burning charcoal in a hotel in Cheung Chau, but was fortunately discovered in time.
