Choi Yim-Heung蔡艷香

Choi Yim-Heung蔡艷香 was born in Malaysia in 1933. Her grandfather Cai Nansheng and father Cai Jinqiu are both Malayans. Choi Yim-Heung officially started her Cantonese opera career at a very young age. Choi Yim-Heung always liked to imitate the acting skills of others when she entered the stage of acting. Choi Yim-Heung has a high comprehension ability and a strong imitation ability. Her second uncle Cai Jinquan and her eighth uncle Cai Jin are both musicians in the theater troupe, who teach her singing , and her mother teach her standing on pot. Choi Yim-Heung has practiced martial arts all over the body, and entered the industry at the age of thirteen to take the lead in performances. Choi Yim-Heung arrived in Hong Kong at the end of 1954. During her stay in Hong Kong, Choi Yim-Heung was invited by Sin Shing Fook to join the Fung Lai Yee Cantonese Opera Troupe and perform at the High Sing Theatre. Choi Yim-Heung performed superb martial arts such as breaking the formation with her feet and riding a car with her feet tied. Choi Yim-Heung's Huadan appearance is somewhat similar to Fang Yanfen. In order to realize her star dream, Choi Yim-Heung decided to show her skills under the mercury lamp. During her stay in Hong Kong, she participated in the filming of the films "Once Upon a Time in Hong Kong", "Seven Fights of the Fire Unicorn", "Dragon and Tiger Crossing Jiang Gong", "Slaying the Dragon and Meeting the Immortal", "Thunder and Heavenly Sword" and "The Jade Blood Hairpin". Produced by Wu's Film Company in 1956, directed by Chen Guohua and supervised by Wu Yixiao, "Once Upon a Time in Fire" is Choi Yim-Heung's first work under the mercury lamp. Choi Yim-Heung plays the role of Rouge Tiger who knows a little about martial arts in the play. She is the lead singer of two episodes, one of which is "Wish Lang Loves Me Rouge Tiger". Choi Yim-Heung later returned to Malaysia, and now teaches Cantonese opera knowledge to the younger generation there.
