蓋鳴暉(Joyce Koi Ming Fai)

Her real name is Li Lifen. She is a famous Cantonese opera actress in Hong Kong. She studied under Lam Ka Sing and is also a literary and martial arts student of the Ming Chi Sing Theater Company. She has performed for many charity organizations such as The Community Chest, Po Leung Kuk and Tung Wah Group of Hospitals and other fund-raising activities, and often performs in public performances at various performance venues in Hong Kong, Kowloon and the New Territories. Koi Ming Fai performs hundreds of Cantonese operas every year and has a profound influence in Hong Kong, Macao and Southeast Asia. She is known as the number one female civil and military student in Hong Kong Cantonese circles today. In addition to Cantonese opera, she has also participated in TV series and movies, and performed with the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra. Koi Ming Fai often plays counter-character roles in TV series. She established the "Gai Minghui Charitable Foundation" in 2005 to promote traditional Chinese opera art and help people in need in society. On the birthdays of Guanyin and Buddha, Koi Ming Fai would accompany her mother to the theater to watch Cantonese operas. After a conversation with her idol Phoenix Girl during a performance, Koi Ming Fai decided to enter the acting industry. Because she like Hua Dan's dress very much, she want Phoenix Girl to accept her as her apprentice. But Phoenix Girl thought that Koi Ming Fai was too young at the time, so she gave up for the time being. Koi Ming Fai's parents did not approve of her studying opera. It was not until middle school that Koi Ming Fai saw an advertisement for Bahe Guild Hall in the newspaper and went for an interview without telling her family. Since 1980, while completing her secondary school courses, she has been receiving two-year training as a transfer student at the Cantonese Opera Academy attached to the Tong House and Pat Wo Hall in Argyle Street, Mongkok, near Train Bridge, in the morning, specializing in the civil and martial arts. In 1987, she was recognized by the famous actor Lam Ka-sing and guest-starred as "Zhao Yun" in the drama "Zhou Yu" of "Song New Sing Theater Company". Later, she learned stage martial arts from Yang Jianhua. Koi Ming Fai's first opportunity to play the leading role in a Cantonese opera came from a performance at the Ba Wo Guild Hall in 1986.
