南鳳Nanfeng

Her cousin Gao Li (Cantonese opera actress) is also a famous female actor in Hong Kong. In 1962, they made their debut in the "Thunder of the Golden Drums and the Sound of Jiajia" produced by "Qing Xinsheng", and the two cousins shared the role of Mei Xiang. In the 1960s, Nan Feng learned Cantonese opera and Northern style Kung Fu from Wu Xiyi, Tam Shanshan and Fen Juhua. In 1963, she became a student of Wang Yuesheng and learned singing. In 1966, under the introduction of Wang, she participated in the performance of Qing Hung Jia Troupe with the famous Cantonese opera and film actress Nan Hong, playing the role of Mei Xiang. Since Nan Hong was also a disciple of the Wang family, Nan Feng respected Nan Hong as her senior sister, and her stage name started with "Nan", so she used Nan Feng as her name. Nanfeng was a Redi's TV artist from 1974 to 1980. Nanfeng suffered from severe abdominal pain at home in 2021, and then fell into a coma. Her son urgently called an ambulance to take her mother to the hospital. After doctors performed surgery to rescue her, she was in a coma in the ICU for two days before she woke up. Due to the seriousness of her condition and the need for a long period of recuperation after surgery, she did not meet the audience on stage until early 2022. ​
